Humana.
Sebo. Livraria.Galeria
The project consisted of creating the visual identity for a store that is suet, bookstore and gallery that existed until then about 8 years ago in a loft rented from one of the owners. The business started to become more notable and that's why I was approached along with the creative and writer André Timm to create a visual identity. The old mark used by the owner used an illustration stolen from Pablo Picasso, the Rocinante horse taken from Don Quixote de La Mancha's book.

The briefing on the project had a unique peculiarity: Do not take Rocinante's illustration of the new identity. It was in this way that we think of a phrase by Wilson Mizner: “If you steal from an author, it is plagiarism; if you steal from many, it's research. ”So we went to look for graphic and textual references to build / steal Humana's new visual identity.

During the research we built a graphic expressiveness based on “The Public Theater” created by Pentagram Design. Idealized that since the horse had been stolen, we could steal a part of Public's idea, where the alternation of letters shows the cultural diversity of the public, and in our case, books.

We steal Rocinante.
Because we area
